WESTON, W.Va. — The Lewis County Board of Education voted unanimously Friday to approve a one-year agreement with West Virginia University Jackson’s Mill, allowing Robert L. Bland Middle School students to continue in-person learning while long-term options for their flood-damaged school are evaluated.
The agreement was approved during a special meeting of the board following devastating flooding on July 21. Through the partnership, students will have access to classroom-style instructional spaces and the resources necessary to maintain a structured, in-person learning environment at the historic 500-acre special-mission campus.
